
Rachel Froehlich
Registered Dietitian
Profile
Rachel is a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Nutrition from both the University of Vermont and Boston University, respectively. After completing her dietetic internship in 2007, she worked at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard School of Public Health, conducting nutrition research on popular diets for weight management and the influence of the glycemic index for the prevention of cardiovascular disease risk factors. Now employed by the University of Pittsburgh, Rachel teaches group behavioral modification classes and counsels individuals for weight management. Rachel has always been an active individual, but it wasn't until she started training for her first marathon that she realized her love of endurance sports and passion for sports nutrition, health, and wellness. She's completed a number of triathlons, including a half-iron distance, three marathons to date, including the Boston Marathon in 2010 with a qualifying time of 3:37. Next up - Ironman Louisville 2011!
